Any staff member at Centennial Elementary can submit a grant request (This includes ALL staff members, not just teachers and administrators. Paras, custodians, front office staff, nutrition staff, etc).
Grants can be submitted for anything big or small that aligns with at least two of our Guiding Principles:
1 Create diverse Educational Opportunities for Centennial Students
2 Provide Teacher Support for Centennial faculty and staff
3 Design engaging opportunities for Community Building throughout our local area and the St Vrain Valley School District
4 Develop a robust Fundraising infrastructure to support Centennial Elementary's mission
Examples could range from anything as small as sets of classroom books or support tools for students, to supplies for innovative lesson plans, educational field trips, or engaging experiences for staff and/or students.
Technically you can submit a grant request between April of 2024 through March of 2025. However, we recommend that you do so earlier in the year to ensure funds are available as there is a fixed budget for grants each year. All grants will be reviewed and decisions for approval made monthly throughout the school year.
Please use the link at the top of the page to fill out a grant request form. You must populate all required fields to proceed. Please be sure when applying to download a hard copy of your form to save your progress. Should you need to stop and come back to the form at a later time to complete, Google forms do not allow for saves in progress, so work up to that point would be lost.
All grant requests will be reviewed monthly as they come in. All requests will first be reviewed by the principal to ensure the request aligns with district standards and is not duplicative of another funded resource. Requests that align to at least two of our guiding principles will be considered. You will be notified following the next PTO board meeting of the decision made regarding your grant request.
Yes, all grant requests must be submitted each year for approval even if it has been approved in prior years unless that request spanned across a longer timeframe. If you are unsure reach out to us!
Once a grant request has been approved, we can pay directly OR reimburse you depending on what is easiest.
Any grant request that does not align to at least 2 of our guiding principles will not be approved. You are always welcome to workshop it and adjust the program to support more pillars. Grants that do not align with district policies and standards may not be approved as well.
Additionally, gift cards cannot be approved due to our renewed 5013(c) non-profit status.

Taking breaks throughout the day, as needed. This is similar to a "cozy corner" or "break spot" in the classroom. These break boxes are those that we place around the school in areas like the pods and Specials classes. Students learn how to successfully regulate themselves by taking a break and then reengaging in the classroom when complete with their break. We need items for the boxes as well as timers in each box to support students in setting a timer and cleaning up when complete. We are encouraging students to find ways that help them regulate, practice this skill and then return to learning.
All classes of every grade level will have access to these break boxes.

Vital support for the creation of an authentic “Thinking Classroom.” Students will utilize these reusable whiteboard charts on a regular basis in a variety of ways, developing and extending their critical and creative thinking skills across the disciplines. By expanding communication opportunities with the use of these tools, there is an expectation of enhanced student engagement and ownership in the learning process. We desire to create a community of confident learners and effective problem solvers. While simple in design, the use of the Wipebook Flipchart will provide our students with valuable, ongoing opportunities to grow academically and social-emotionally as they think and communicate at high levels, skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
These resources will benefit students with gifted/advanced services . There is also potential for use with whole classes/grade levels with push-in lessons as well as possible professional development opportunities with Centennial staff members.

It indirectly involves fine motor skills in terms of selecting and possibly handling food items. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of making informed choices related to personal health and well-being. Also addresses topics such as personal hygiene, safety around food preparation, understanding the importance of balanced nutrition, and demonstrating basic cooking skills, all of which could indirectly involve fine motor skills and food-related knowledge.
Cooking Friday will benefit all SSN students who will make a different recipe each week to expand their flavor and texture profiles. Students with significant needs often are not able to frequently try new foods in order to determine what they want and what they might not. Tools that help self-regulation and have bodies and brains more regulated for learning will support any and all areas of work, including all academic areas and all specials.
