Meet the Centennial Elementary PTO

Ashley Petersen, President

Ashley is a proud mom of four, with one Centennial grad,  two in 1st and 3rd grade, and one very busy two-year-old still at home.

She is passionate about supporting our teachers, staff, and students during these foundational years. She loves working behind the scenes to help create memorable experiences that bring joy to our kids and ease to our educators. Whether it’s planning events, lending a helping hand, or just finding small ways to make things a little easier, Ashley believes that every bit of support can make a big difference. Ashley feels it is a privilege to be part of a school community that cares so deeply about kids, and she’s excited to keep showing up, hustling quietly, cheering loudly, and helping however she can.

Lauren Huddy, Vice-President

Lauren is excited to be part of the PTO team while getting to know the amazing staff who make Centennial such a special place! She has two Huskies at Centennial, taking on 3rd and 1st grade, with one more joining the pack soon. Lauren enjoys connecting with local businesses to create sponsorships, spirit nights, and other fundraising opportunities that support Centennial's students, staff, and school community.

Brittany Williams, Secretary

Brittany is a mom of 3, with a 2nd grader and 4th grader at Centennial and a toddler at home. She firmly believes public education and teachers are the backbone of our community, and she is thrilled to be part of an organization that supports just that. As secretary, Brittany handles all media, correspondence, and internal organization. In her free time, Brittany enjoys volunteering at school, planning Disney trips, and helping with advocacy and activism in her community.

Christina Hudson, Treasurer

Christina loves being able to give time back to staff and teachers by volunteering her time at the school. She has a 2nd grader at Centennial and loves helping in their classroom every week. Christina generously lends her previous experience and knowledge for the PTO by handling all of the bookkeeping business from the day to day to big events, grants, and budget. She has found that being a part of the PTO has helped her to get to know other parents and staff and create a web of relationships that really builds on the family atmosphere that Centennial embodies.

Julia Crosby, Community Outreach Coordinator

Julia Crosby is honored to serve as the new Community Outreach Coordinator for the PTO this year. Her son is in second grade at Centennial, and they are proud to be part of such an amazing school community. She loves organizing events, building connections, and finding ways to make families feel welcome and involved. Julia is looking forward to working alongside our wonderful PTO team to create a fun and engaging year for our students, staff, and families.

Amanda Galitz, Staff Representative

Amanda Galitz teaches 1st Grade at Centennial, is a Colorado native, and has over 10 years in the education field. Joining the PTO as a staff representative allows her to share teacher perspective, while keeping her colleagues in the loop.

In her free time, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband and 3 kids!  They love to camp, play sports and ride their bikes. She also is an avid reader.

Stacie Jordan, Staff Representative

Joining our staff representative team is Stacie Jordan, 5th grade teacher at Centennial. Stacie has been teaching for 15 years (4th, 5th, 6th grades). She loves reading, sports, and getting her hands dirty; outside in the garden or in science mysteries.

Stacie is married and has two sons, both of whom are at Centennial.  When they are not building legos, watching sports, or playing outside they can be found around the community in all sorts of activities. Stacie enjoys hockey, (Go Avs),  but she REALLY loves 5th grade!

Dana van der Hoeven, Staff Representative

Our third and final staff representative this year is 4th Grade teacher Dana van der Hoeven. Dana has been teaching third and fourth grade in St. Vrain since 2002.  She recently earned her Master’s degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from CU Denver.   Centennial’s Commitment Statements align with her own passion for teaching kids. Dana believes that community, communication, consistency, challenge and collective responsibility are all necessary to teach the whole child and have a positive impact on learning. One of her favorite things about teaching is building relationships with her students and learning new things together.

When she is not teaching, Dana loves spending time with her wonderful hubby and two amazing kids, being outdoors, playing with their dog, bike riding and connecting with friends.
